Kelly bars can be divided into two main types: friction kelly bars and interlocking kelly bars. Friction kelly bars are named such due to the frictional contact created between the rails of each element. Interlocking kelly bars, on the other hand, do not have frictional contact between the rails of each element, but instead have drive ribs that are welded with lock devices in order to transfer the maximum amount of torque to each scope. Standard kelly bars are manufactured to be fully lockable systems with a mechanical locking mechanism between each element and the outer bar and rotary drive.

Kelly bar is mainly classified into friction Kelly bar and interlocking Kelly bar.
Interlocking Kelly bars are used with piling rigs for drilling in silt, clay and less dense sand and gravel. We adopt seamless alloy tube from famous steel enterprise and process the tube with special hot-treatment to enhance the material’s strength more than 800Mpa.
Kelly bars can be equipped with specially designed springs or pressure plates for shock absorbing purpose.

Application: Friction kelly bars are normally supplied in 4 or 5 telescopic elements, they are mostly used for deep piles of silt, clay and less dense sand and gravel.

Type: Interlocking/friction/combined kelly bar.
Size:Diameter range from 355mm-630mm.
Friction Kelly bar is another type of kelly bar, which the external key is composed of 3 or 6 wear -resistant strips without lock recesses. This kelly bar can form pressure force when the kelly bar is rotary. can produce peripheral force and the rotary passing down the pressure force, can produce the friction force. This kelly bar has the advantage of operating sample, drilling deep, but with less pressure transmission.
